WHAT IS ZERO SUPPRESSION & ZERO ELEVATION ? Answer -- Zero Suppression: suppose a DPT is mounted at the bottom of the tank through an impulse pipeline, then even if the tank
is empty the impulse pipeline will have some water in it.
This water will exert pressure on the HP side of the DPT
and we will get some output even if the tank is empty.so
the output need to be supressed to the zero value
Zero Elevation:suppose a DPT is mounted at the bottom of
the closed tank and to the LP the impulse tube which is
connected is filled with a refrence liquid. Then the
pressure exerted on LP>HP.Hence the output will be
negative .So it has to be elevated to reach the zero level.

1. Can you operate a control valve without a I to P converter ?
Answer- Yes , we can operate cv without I/P converter, just we have to adjust the regulator output air pressure according to I/P rated output by adjusting the knob of regulator correspondingly kg f/cm2 to 1.02 kg f/cm2 manually. the output of regulator should go to the input of mechanical positioner, supply pressure should remain as per cv characteristic and the output from the mechanical positioner should go to diaphragm of control valve via airlock relay.

1. What do you mean by instrument potential barriers,How many types are there?
Answer- Instrument Potential barrier is the energy inserted in order to go against the passage of electron.
Electric transport in sputtered LiNbO3 (LN) films sandwiched between TiN and Si electrodes revealed Schottky emission at low electric field and Poole-Frenkel conduction at higher electric field without any hysteresis. The Poole-Frenkel conduction region was brought into the reproducible potential barrier-controlled conduction region by inserting a thin SiO2 layer between LN and TiN, where current hysteresis appeared. Trapping of electrons at SiO2/LN interface states when TiN is negatively biased produces the highest potential barrier, resulting in a high resistance state, whereas releasing the trapped electrons at positive bias leads to a low resistant state. When electric contact to the TiN electrode was taken using Ag paste, another current hysteresis resulting from the connection and disconnection of Ag filaments was observed after time-dependent soft dielectric breakdown.

1. How smart plant instrumentation related to IN tools?
Ans- Smart plant instrumentation previously marketed as IN tools, reflects intergraph continuing investment in smart plant technology and its use in smart plant instrumentation, such as the engineering framework integration, enhanced smart loop, easily navigable plant hiearchy display and smart plant suit code compatible.
The smart plant instrumentation powerd by INtools continues to answer the instrumentation engg, design and lifecycle operation requirement of plant owner operator and engineerind firm worldwide.
The smart plant instrumentation product name also reflect the market acheivement of IN tools combined with the brand recognization of smart plant.

1. WHAT IS THE WORKING PRINCIPLE OF HYDRA STEP (DRUM LEVEL INDICATOR).
Answer - Its works on the principle of resistivity. The discrimination between water & steam is based on the significant difference in resistivity between the two states over the saturation range.when a voltage applied to the tip, conduction takes place between tip and inside wall of column.when the resistance of probe is less than 100K its represents the water % in drum and if it is greater than 100K its represents the % steam in drum.
